My Bio
"Jack von Bellingshausen" - von Bellingshausen after Fabian von Bellingshausen, the Russian Navy captain who likely first saw Antarctica; Jack because it's straight-forward. Despite their (mostly) plain vanilla name, Jack is more or less a wild card: though they have a dry sense of humor and a mouth with a natural frown, they have a way with words and are the sort who would suck down a drink, stand on a table, and belt out a song for the sake of lighting a flame for a party. That isn't to say Jack is any good at singing; rather, their skill lies in learning concepts and histories in a small amount of time (Antarctica has no great history of its own so Jack is jealous of the others in that respect). They appear twenty-something and stand at one hundred and seventy eight centimeters. Jack's hair is jaw-length and goes from pearly orange to startlingly orange at the roots: in short, a mane. With no real relatives (outside of - arguably - Australia and India who would be more like fellow pioneers* anyways) and a solitary disposition, Jack isn't particularly popular; their odd head of hair, unnervingly ice-blue eyes, and androgynous face (angular cheekbones smattered with light freckles and a defined jaw) make them less so. Despite this, they make a great attempt to have close relations with others, especially their South American and Oceanic neighbors.

But now that it's been mentioned, Jack is actually quite friendly, if a bit intimidating upon first approach. They're insightful, a good listener, and oddly humorous despite (or, perhaps, because of) their years of isolation. They have their occasional moments when they'd rather be alone - retreating to some quiet place to read or think or rest - and if you can understand that, then the two of you would easily get along. Jack is a heavy eater out of habit, and they're quite serious about one's health. They keep meal-plans and exercise daily, from weight lifting to swimming to cycling.

If given the opportunity, Jack would tell you that - though their physical body is only as old as Captain James Cook's expedition - their consciousness' age is one to be rivaled. Given their experience, they don't think it impossible that the embodiments of the Nations predated mankind, and their origins lie with the origins of the molten rock we spin on when the "personifications" would have been nothing more than corporal entities who would (again, in theory) evolve as mankind evolved. This would make Jack's (and their fellow Pangaea buddies) consciousness millions of years old. However - Jack would confess - that in an environment only made up of three colors and a timeline marked only by fluxes in temperature, things ran together there in the middle and there is no way of telling just how much time passed in their "spirit's" lifetime.
